Main item: NYPD ID cards, 2000s

Main item's material: PVC

Main item's features: design on both sides, round corners and placeholder data already present as shown in the image on the left. Photograph is printed directly on the ID card.

Main item's description: ID card issued by the New York Police Department to its officers during the 2000s.

Remarks: the main difference between this item and the NYPD ID cards, 2010s consits in the font used for the data (see picture on the left for comparison). The difference between "Police Officer to Sergeant" and "Lieutenant to Commissioner" ID cards consists in the lack of the badge number on the "Lieutenant to Commissioner" ID cards. "Retired, Series 1" ID cards display the retirement date on the front side and no date on the backside, while "Retired, Series 2" IDs display the expiration date on the front side and the retirement date on the backside. All "Retired, Series 1" IDs display the "RETIRED" word placed at the bottom of the photograph with a border and in the same size, while "Retired, Series 2, Firearms authorized" IDs display the "RETIRED" word without border and bigger in size than "Retired, Series 2, Firearms not authorized" IDs. "Retired, Series 2, Firearms authorized" IDs also come without the thing black border (appearing inside the photograph area) which is present on all of the other variations of the main item. "Active" ID cards have a chip on them, which can be either raised or re-embedded (see picture on the left for further details):
   • Raised chip: the chip sits above the card's surface (can be noticed at touch and sight).
   • Re-embedded chip: the chip sits at the same level of the card's surface (as it would normally be).
