Main item's material: PVC with chip

Main item's features: design on both sides, round corners and placeholder data already present as shown in the image on the left. Photograph is printed directly on the ID card.

Main item's description: Common Access Card valable as Geneva Conventions Identification Card issued by the Department of Defense (DOD) to Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard personnel of the US Armed Forces for purposes of identification and access to installations and systems during the mid-late 2000s.

Remarks: The bearer's status as part of Active Duty, Reserve or National Guard forces is no longer shown under the branch denomination (contrary to the previous version of the Geneva Conventions ID card). The difference between "Type A" and "Type B" backside consists in the lack of the "Social Security Number" field on the "Type B". Regarding the front sides, the main difference between the "Series 1" and "Series 2" consist in the different alignment of the text "Armed Forces of the United States" above the branch emblem, while the difference between "Type 1" and "Type 2" cards consists in the presence of the "Pay Grade" field on the "Type 2". The chip sits flush with the card's surface and is available in two design styles (see picture on the left for further details).
