Restriction policy for certain credentials and ID cards

Due to their nature, some items are subject to restrictions if shipped (mainly) to the USA or their possessions. This page contains the complete restriction policy applicable to those items. Other restrictions may be applicable to specific items, in such a case the specific restriction will be duly advertised on the item's webpage. Those specific resitrctions are to be considered part of the restriction policy even if they do not appear on this page but on the webpage of a specific item. Any change to the policy will be reported on this page and communicated via newsletter. For any question or doubt regarding the policy detailed below, do not hesitate to contact us.

1. Field of application: restriction notice

1.1. This policy applies only to certain credentials and ID cards: we take care to mark which items are subject to the following restrictions, by placing a restriction notice at the top of their webpages.

1.2. The restriction notice makes clear under which category an item falls ("modern era" items or similar to "modern era" items), so it is easier for you to find the applicable policy between those listed below.

See Fig. 1.1. and Fig. 1.2. on the right.

MOVIE PRODUCTION COMPANIES ARE EXEMPTED from such restrictions but they need to provide proper documentation.
If you are working for a movie production company, please contact us for more information regarding this point.

Fig. 1.2.: Enlargment of the restriction notice shown in Fig. 1.1.

2. Restrictions for "Modern era" items

2.1. Definition: all items classified as "modern era" by their title (E.G.: NCIS credentials, modern era) or, exceptionally, expressly classified as such by the restriction notice.

2.2. Type of restriction: Apposition of a "REPLICA" stamp on the front side of the credentials/ID card.

2.3. Conditions to be realized for the above restriction to be apply:
2.3.1. The "modern era" item must be shipped to the USA or any territory under their jurisdiction;
2.3.2. The "modern era" item must be customized with an individual's information.
Both conditions have to be realized at the same time for the restriction to operate

2.4.Clarification on the application of the restriction and exceptions:
2.4.1. If it is realized only the condition mentioned in the above 2.3.1. (and not the one of point 2.3.2.), the item will not bear any "REPLICA" stamp. In order for this to happen, the item must not be customized in any way. This means the item comes with all placeholder data already in place.
2.4.2. If condition mentioned in the above 2.3.1. is realized but the item is customized with the information belonging to a fictional character from a movie/TV series/cartoon or any other work of fiction ("customization for prop purposes"), the item will not bear any "REPLICA" stamp on the front side, but only a "prop notice" on the backside. The "customization for prop purposes" has to follow these guidelines in order to be accepted:
2.4.2.1. The fictional character must be well known or must be well known and belong to a well known movie/TV series/cartoon or any other work of fiction;
2.4.2.2. All of the fields available for the customization must be filled with the fictional character's information (I.E. if an item can be customized with name, rank, photograph and signature, it is not possible to have an item customized only with the character's signature, leaving all of the other fields blank. All fields shall be filled with character's information).
2.4.3. If a hard cover is ordered toghether with credentails, the credentials are normally attached to the hard cover. Because of this, should a "prop notice" be required, it will not be applied on the backside of the credentials but on the outer part of the hard cover. On leatherette covers, the notice will be contained in a label attached to the cover while on paper covers the notice will be printed directly on the cover.
If customer asks for the credentails not to be attached on the cover, the "prop notice" will appear on the backside of the credentials and not on the hard cover. In such a case, we will take care to caution the customer against attaching the credentails to the hard cover (thus hiding the notice) as that would be considered an alteration not permitted under our TOS.

See Fig. 2. on the right.

3.4.Clarification on the application of the restriction and exceptions:
3.4.1. If it is realized only the condition mentioned in the above 3.3.1. (and not the one of point 3.3.2.), the item will not bear any "REPLICA" stamp. In order for this to happen, the item must not be customized in any way. This means the item comes with all placeholder data already in place.
3.4.2. The "customization for prop purposes" has to follow these guidelines in order to be accepted:
3.4.2.1. The fictional character must be well known or must be well known and belong to a well known movie/TV series/cartoon or any other work of fiction;
3.4.2.2. All of the fields available for the customization must be filled with the fictional character's information (I.E. if an item can be customized with name, rank, photograph and signature, it is not possible to have an item customized only with the character's signature, leaving all of the other fields blank. All fields shall be filled with character's information).
3.4.3. If a hard cover is ordered toghether with credentails, the credentials are normally attached to the hard cover. In such a case, we will take care to caution the customer against attaching the credentails to the hard cover (thus hiding the stamp) as that would be considered an alteration not permitted under our TOS
